Hey, I traded something on Topps Million Card Giveaway!

on March 16th, 2010 by Andrew

I really didn’t expect this to happen. Sure, it’s not like I traded for anyone I collect, nor a team I’m following. It’s a trade for the sake of trading!

A 1994 Sid Fernandez for my 1994 Arthur Rhodes. Woo and hoo.
Still, it was kinda neat to do. I didn’t make the offer, I found it [...]

Why I Like BuyBacks

on March 16th, 2010 by rosschrisman2003

Between this year and last year, I have paid a lot more attention to Topps Heritage.  Maybe because I like the old school look or perhaps its the Phillies cards commemorating their World Series accomplishments.
One thing I like the most are the buyback cards that come as box toppers inside each box.  I’ve always liked [...]

2009 Upper Deck Exquisite Football is purty.

on March 16th, 2010 by Andrew

I may rag on Upper Deck for a lot of things, but they do one thing really, really well: High end sports cards. Topps has never really tried to compete against the Exquisite set (Sterling and Triple Threads are not competition for Exquisite – they are competition for Ultimate, at best). Panini/Donruss has done a [...]
