on January 6th, 2009 by bapple2286

Bobby Bonilla helped make up one of the most talented outfields in major league baseball during the 1990’s.  Alongside teammates Barry Bonds and Andy VanSlyke, this trio was one of the most complete outfields in baseball due to their incredible offense and defensive abilities.
As a 6-time All-Star and 3-time Silver Slugger winner, Bobby Bonilla offered all [...]

1986 Donruss Rated Rookie - Fred McGriff
I’ve sung the praises of Fred McGriff a few times on this blog.  He was a very good player and contributed solidly both on offense and defense during his career.  Although he falls just short of the 500 home run club that almost always guarantees Hall of Fame entry, I [...]

I love these old combo cards.  Any card featuring 2 of the Yankee’s biggest sluggers during the 1980’s is going to be a hit with me!!!

1985 Topps All-Star Dave Winfield

For some reason, Topps didn’t put much effort into their All-Star cards during the mid-80’s.  I don’t know why, as any card commemorating something special about the season is always a favorite of mine.  This card is supposed to announce that Dave Winfield was an All-Star for the American League.
Instead, it just yawns….  Bad Topps, Bad.
