It was a fairly limited release, and I don't recall ever actually seeing any back in the late 1990's. I don't even think I knew that it existed until I saw it listed on the Beckett checklist. There were a total of 57 $10 phone cards in the set, which included everyone from Cal Ripken Jr. to Denny Neagle.

Wicked Cards From A Wicked Blogger!!!

2009′s ‘Trader of the Year’ hooked me up with a big ol’ stack of goodies. The package was hefty and very focused on the guys that I collect.

Primarily containing oddballs and limited edition inserts, Alfredo really took me back to my youth with this ‘goodie bag’.

Let’s check out what was lurking inside, shall we???

First up was a handful of Rickey Henderson cards:

And after Rickey came Pete Rose:

And Pete Rose was followed by ‘Sweet Swinging Billy Williams’:

Next up was a quartet of Kirby Puckett cards:

Who was trailed by Tim Raines:

And Ozzie Smith:

All of a sudden, a large stack of Winfields appeared:

And then it was time for the icing on the cake – Andre Dawson

As always, Alfredo puts a lot of thought into his trade packages. This one was no exception as he hit on several of the players that are near and dear to this collector’s heart!!!

Thanks Bud!!

On this day in 1993, Rickey Henderson and his Oakland A’s teammates battled against the Cleveland Indians in a double-header.

What is so special about that you ask? Double-headers are a normal part of a baseball schedule you say…

Well during this double header, a man by the name of Rickey Henderson led off both of these games with home runs, a feat that had not been accomplished in 60 years. In game #1, Henderson launched a homer off of Paul Abbott. And then just a few short hours later he did it again, this time of off Mark Clark.

Happy Anniversary Rickey Henderson, a true one-of-a-kind player!!!
