As most of you know I am collecting the cards of former Texas Longhorn and current Texas Ranger Taylor Teagarden along with Longview Texas native Chris Davis who is also a Ranger. Most of my player collections involve and attempt to acquire every card issued of the player. I believe I will never be able to Touch’em All as there are way to many 1 of 1 cards not too mention I don’t have an unlimited budget. That said I am still going to try and get as close as I can.

My wife and I were in Walmart picking up the staples of life which includes some 2010 Topps Baseball. However, the only 2010 Baseball cards on the shelf were the not fully licensed Upper Deck issue that I am staying away from. I don’t like to buy cards that are not licensed by both the [...]

I responded to a contest hosted by the Ladies of A Cardboard Problem a few weeks ago on their blog. I liked the idea behind the contest which even had a great First Prize, a complete set of 2008 UD Masterpieces and a few Black Borders of the winners choice. I submitted an entry and [...]

On the Eve before the National Championship Game between my Texas Longhorns and the Alabama Crimson Tide I am finding myself reminiscing about the short time that I lived near Anniston Alabama. My dad was transferred from Mead Pipe’s Tyler, Texas plant and sent to the plant in Anniston, Alabama early in my fourth grade [...]

Yesterday Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez returns to Arlington where his Major League career began. When I first heard the news I was a bit troubled. I mean the Rangers have such a good thing going right now and sometimes when you make a player move it sours the punch a bit. But that feeling soon subsided [...]

I picked up the three Ian Kinsler cards above with a credit that I still had over on Sportlots a few weeks ago. Two of the cards represent the first Walmart Black Border and Target Retro Gray Back cards I have picked up. The third is a nice 2009 SPX card.
It didn’t dawn on me [...]

I was killing the rest of my lunch hour at the local Toys R Us checking out the card section and the McFarlane figures. They had moved the cards again so it took me a bit to find them. They were also harder to find because they seem to be stocking fewer cards now.
Anyway, there [...]

The Treasure Hunt will begin on each contest day at approximately 9:00 am central time with one card being hidden in the over 30 million card Sportlots inventory. Talk about a [...]

This is the first of the bargain Kmart blasters from my latest excursion to Lufkin Texas. There wasn’t a lot to choose from that really interested me but I decided to take a chance on this blaster. I can probably flip or trade the YSL cards to help offset the $10.99 price of the box.
